Further to the “New Order” operation initiated by the Minister of National Security, MK Itamar Ben Gvir, and the Police Commissioner, Commissioner-General Dani Levy, last weekend, Border Police National Guard fighters, along with Southern District police officers, began operating in the city of Beersheba. The goal is to strengthen personal security, increase police presence, and target crime-generating elements in the area.
Earlier today, the Police Commissioner closely observed the forces’ operations in Beersheba and met with Mayor Rubik Danilovich. The Commissioner joined the operational activity, held a situation assessment in the field, and was impressed by the deployment of forces, means, and capabilities within the operation. He was accompanied by the Commander of the Southern District, Superintendent Chaim Bublil, the Commander of the Border Police, Superintendent Barak Yitzhak, the Commander of the National Guard in the Border Police, Superintendent Nachshon Negler, and the Head of the Operations Division of the Israel Police, Superintendent David Filo.
As part of the operation, forces are increasing police presence in the field, operating at pre-determined points and crime hotspots, conducting enforcement activities and searches, utilizing advanced technological means, mapping areas that affect residents’ sense of security, and taking action against suspicious individuals.
Later in the day, the Commissioner visited Tarabin, where he joined the police and Border Police forces’ operations as part of the operation and engaged in dialogue with local residents, emphasizing the integration of enforcement activities with police presence and communication with the population.
The “New Order” operation is designed to strengthen the public’s sense of personal security and convey a clear message: the law is enforced everywhere, and anyone who harms the quality of life and the security of residents will be dealt with accordingly.
The operation is not time-limited, is being built in stages, and will continue according to the situation assessment, with the continued determined activity of the Israel Police and Border Police fighters to maintain public safety and order in Beersheba and the southern region.
