Jerusalem, 11 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli medtech company Nitinotes has treated the first patient in its pivotal EASE clinical trial, a major step toward bringing its automated suturing system to the U.S. market. The study is testing the company’s EndoZip device for endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG), a minimally invasive weight-loss procedure.
The first treatment took place at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. The trial will enroll up to 184 patients at sites in the U.S. and Europe and is intended to support a future FDA submission.
The milestone comes shortly after Nitinotes received CE Mark approval for EndoZip, allowing the system to be sold in the European Union.
