Jerusalem, 18 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — israeli authorities said on Monday they foiled an attempt to smuggle 14 kilograms of the drug, MDMA, into the country at Ben-Gurion Airport.
The Israel Tax Authority and Israel Police said the drugs were found in the suitcase after being flagged by a sniffer dog. The suspect was identified as an 18-year-old Petah Tikva resident who was returning to Israel on a direct flight from Cyprus.
Officials said the confiscated drugs were worth around NIS 5 million ($1.48 million).
